Housing Locations
Claflin is Reunion Headquarters. The Crown Plaza is the recommended hotel for those who choose not to stay in Claflin. Contact information is 1360 Worcester Street, Natick, MA 01760 (508) 653-8800. The College also uses the Marriott in Newton, but there will be no van service from there.
Transportation
There will be van transportation from Claflin and from the Crown Plaza to various events on campus. Transportation to Logan Express in Framingham will be provided Sunday afternoon.
Disability Accommodations
We will ask the College to include disability access points on the reunion map.
There will be no vans with elevator platforms, due to the additional rental cost.
Activities
Friday activities include Registration, which begins at 1 PM on Friday, June 1 in Claflin, Step Singing Friday evening, followed by a Clam Bake (casual dress) and an after dinner night cap in the Claflin living room.
Saturday morning events will feature our class meeting , panels of classmates’ reflections, and a lecture program for spouses . Kitty Mollman would welcome your ideas and suggestions for the panel.
Saturday Lunch will be in Claflin, organized by “dorm tables.” There will Saturday afternoon tours and activities on campus. Late Saturday afternoon we will hold a Memorial Service in the chapel for classmates we have lost over the years. David Ferry has agreed to read a selection of his poetry at the service.
Saturday night we will have cocktails and dinner at the College Club (dressy), followed by light entertainment. Send any suggestions for the latter to Toni or Jan. Our Class Treasury will underwrite the dinner cost for classmates.
Our class insignia for Sunday morning’s alumnae parade is a bright green umbrella, which will come in handy, rain or shine. Following the Alumnae Association Annual Meeting in the newly refurbished Diana Chapman Walsh Alumnae Hall, there will be a box lunch in the art museum courtyard, before we head off to the Cape or the airport.
Reunion Fellowships
Fellowships will be available again this year, using the same guidelines as those used for our 50th Reunion. Details will be published in our Class Notes, our written communications and on the Website. Confidentiality is a priority.
Class Gift
The Committee recommends we give a class gift to the 1957 Green Fund.
Cape Extension
A few days on the Cape will top off our reunion gathering. Future mailings
will include a map, hotel/motel recommendations, and transportation options.
See you at Reunion June 1-3, 2012
